The feminine influence on our cultures, and correspondingly, the manifestation of feminine nature of our collective consciousness, has diminished throughout recorded time – an era of increasingly patriotic global elitism. As our reverence for the nature of ‘the feminine’ has diminished, so too has the influence of women on the priorities of our civilizations. Around the world, entire civilizations have lost their energetic balance, becoming overtly militaristic, competitive, nationalistic and institutionalized. Uncivilized. Our societies embrace priorities that undermine the ‘feminine’ virtues of individualism and sustainability. Without the natural feminine balance, our most influential institutions are competitive and not co-operative, controlling not enabling, scientific not spiritual, and structured on the irrational principles of militarism, consumption and perpetual economic growth.

I was in Bali, Indonesia when I met the most mesmerizing woman of my life.

Covered from head to toe in flowing, elegant garments, she had the most feminine energy packed in to one human being that I had ever been witness to.

And she literally took my breath away.

Her motions were effortless. The way she hugged me upon being introduced to me was without hesitation. She was pure, open, loving light personified.

Later that day I was debriefing with my travel partner who, as it turns out, had also been floored by her overflowing feminine energy.

We couldn’t shake the thought of her for days and (although neither one of us was interested in her romantically) we couldn’t deny that her essence had hit something very deep inside of us. We felt lit up from the inside. The fire in our bellies was reignited.

This is the power of sexual polarity.

The New Divine Feminine is a way for us to allow the feminine to lead us into this Age of Light. Women may take the lead in this but men too will follow.

For thousands of years the divine feminine energy has struggled to stay alive in a male dominated world.  This energy has re-surged throughout history for periods of time.  When it has thrived we have called it a Golden Age, for music, medicine, science, art, love and life have flourished. The old ideas of competition, might over right, private ownership, greed, domination and war virtually did not exist. Peace and prosperity reigned during these times and feminine based values

There is a lot of talk about feminine awakening and empowerment these days, and one of the pitfalls I see playing itself out in the collective right now, is that the old paradigm of competition and greed, of “more-for-me” has learned to mimic the deep feminine. With that I mean that there is a danger that we use the language and the imagery of the feminine to feed the old patterns of ambition and endless improvement. Now we are not only being told that we should be better and smarter and richer, we should also “find our inner Goddess”, get our “tantra on”, be more radiant,  we should “do” the feminine perfectly.

There is magic and excitement in the air as we feel a rebirth coming forth. With this second New Moon in January, which is a SUPER MOON in AQUARIUS, aligning with the kick off of the YEAR OF THE HORSE, and VENUS in her rebirth ready to go direct, the energy is finally shifting forward!We are ready to emerge forth and share our uniqueness add our vision to the collective.

Everything You Wanted to Know about Venus Retrograde (but were afraid to ask)

Venus Retrograde.  Personal, charming Venus, the love planet, is in retrograde (appears to travel backwards against the backdrop of the stars). Many of you have heard of Mercury going retrograde, which it does every 3 months. However, Venus and Mars are the rarest of planets that do so. The outer planets typically retrograde 5 months out of the 12, but with Venus Retrograde, its time is short. With retrograde planets, we focus on the “re” part of the energy, i.e., re-think, re-do, re-consider, re-plan, etc.

On July 29th, 2013 when we will experience a RARE Star of David / Merkaba / Six-pointed Star configuration in the heavens!

It is actually two Grand Trines, one in Water and one is Earth (all feminine) which create this configuration called a Grand Sextile or a Star Tetrahedron.

Many names and much symbolism tied into this Sacred Geometry.The essence is that this mystical configuration of Sacred Geometry opens a portal of energy that is accessible for those who choose to tune in to it. That is the key.

Answering The Call is to turn to a new path; to begin moving another direction, usually into darkening forests whose trails are narrow and obscured. Contained within The Call is the imperative to walk away from what is currently before you- the leave-taking of a previous path- to wander, seemingly aimlessly at times, a wooded night. 

There may be others on that current pathway with you. They stare as you move away. Some are stunned, or angry. Some shake their head in disappointment or fear for the loss of your presence and agreement. As you move away from the company of Those Who Think Like Me, you begin to realize that you haven'tthought like them for some time now. The thought of continuing on as you have for so long is causing such a rift that it threatens to divide you from your very essence. If you don't finally answer this time, The Call may never come to you again. You can't risk that possibility.

It happened to me once, in a little Indian village bordering Bangladesh and tucked into the foothills of the Himalayas. Sneaking past armed guards into wilderness forbidden to tourists, I left modernity behind and entered into a remote part of our planet where backward superstitions ruled.

How dare I subject myself to such danger? The locals scolded. But they didn’t alert me to the danger of neighboring tribes descending from the hills to hack us with machetes, as the ministry of tourism had. Instead, the village women were trying to protect me from being falsely accused of witchcraft!

Welcome year of the Wood Horse!

Here is an overview of what we can expect on the horizon….First a very insightful overview from astrologer Susan Lewitt:

“The new Moon on January 30 at 11:20 pm PST (but listed as January 31 in many calendars) begins the year of the Wood Horse…”“Decisive action, not procrastination, brings victory. But you have to act fast in a Horse year. If you are not 100% secure about a decision, then don’t do it. Events move so quickly in a Horse year that you don’t want to gallop off in the wrong direction…”

There might not be a bigger shift of energies in the entire 60 year wheel of Chinese astrology than this one coming up–the shift from two Water years of deep introspection to the fast-paced spurt of extroverted forward propulsion that the Wood Horse brings.  Hold on to your hats, folks, and realize that you won’t be able to, nor will you want to, slow your horses in the New Year ahead!

Depression comes as a gift that stops one from hurrying briskly, confidently into the market. Stops one from rushing to the shopping center to buy one more bargain blouse for an already overcrowded closet. Stops one from emptily mouthing what one no longer believes in anyway.

While goddess propagandists promote the unilateral concept of a spiritually elevated womanhood—strong but supple, decisive and nurturing, wild yet wise—glaringly absent is a call to the Sacred Masculine counterpoint.

Women can forever rally around each other, cheerleading new heights of intuitive and open-hearted power, but without the cooperation of menfolk stealing their own fire from the gods, we are preaching to the sistah choir.

"Right now, I urge you to unravel the listless, rigid parts and feed your wild, because it is the wild you, not the barely alive, embedded-into-routine, zombie-like you that is now struggling for air. For turn on. For sweet prana. Restore the wild and the warrior."

You shouldn’t have to get sick or halt domesticity to find it; you just need to remember that you are human, still very much alive, and wickedly, wildly extraordinary.

Like any good doctor, I was indoctrinated early on in the masculine way to operate, not just in the operating room, but in the world.

The Rules

Strive.

Put your ass in the chair until it’s done.

Make it happen.

Go for it.

Chase it.

Will it.

Put your nose to the grindstone.

No pain, no gain.

Grasp.

Clutch.

Cling to it if it feels like it’s slipping away.

If it’s not going well, try harder.

Succeed.

Win.

Triumph.

But for the love of God, never let ‘em see you sweat...
